It’s a clean, small, minimalist  hotel right across the street from Playa Carmen, a grocery store and a laundry mat. There is a shared seating area at the front and back that we appreciated since the rooms are quite small. ☹The shower leaked a bit and there was a smell of chemicals in the room. We live up the coast and did a "no occassion"  over-night trip.  The Ventura was perfect.  My only negative is that it is, as other reviewers noted, a little noisy.  That said, we slept really, really well and the hotel does provide ear plugs.  We had the garden terrace room at the back near the pool.  Great room.  Super comfortable. Excepcional ☺ We had such a wonderful stay at Ventura in Santa Teresa! A huge thank you to Abigail and David — they were both absolutely incredible from start to finish. They helped us immediately whenever we needed something and always made us feel welcome and taken care of. We actually changed rooms twice (because of our own requests, not because of any issues), which meant we got to see three different rooms — and every single one was fantastic. Clean, comfortable, beautifully maintained, and cleaned daily. The price-performance ratio was really fair, and the location is amazing. Every morning I walked to the beach for a sunrise beach walk — it’s only about 3 minutes away. There’s also a great bakery right next door, a surf school nearby, and Taco Corner is just around the corner with super delicious food. I visit Santa Teresa a lot and just recently found this hidden gem that I feel is close to a lot of the best stores and restaurants. And they actually have a restaurant associated with and right next to the hotel that was incredible! If fact I ate there 3 times in 2 days.  Loved the toiletries they provided for the shower and my room was clean and perfect for 1-2 people - it could have a little better set up for hanging clothes, but that was the only thing that I could think of to help improve my room. Abigail and David at reception take excellent care of the guests and make you feel good instantly. They not only answer all your questions but are also always up for a friendly chat. Two truly wonderful people ! :) I enjoyed my stay so much that I returned after just a few days, and they even kindly gave me an upgrade. What you get for this price compared to other accommodations in Santa Teresa is outstanding. You walk into your room and immediately feel comfortable. Everything feels new and clean, and the toiletries in the bathroom smell fantastic. I also loved the fact that I could have a coffee in my room. The location of Ventura Santa Teresa is truly excellent. You are just a few minutes' walk from the beach, and other places in Santa Teresa are also easily accessible. The room itself was small, but perfectly fine in itself. However, upon arrival, we noticed that the drain in the bathroom was clogged, which was not ideal. During our stay, the power also went out throughout the entire village. Of course, that can happen, and there is little the hotel can do about it. What we did find disappointing, however, is that there was absolutely no check-in or communication from the hotel with the guests. Because many restaurants were closed due to the power outage, we couldn't find anywhere to eat and ended up just going to bed early. It would have been nice if someone from the hotel had simply checked if everything was okay or perhaps given a tip on what was still open. It wasn't mentioned again the next day either, which gave the impression that there was little attention paid to the guests at that moment. That being said, the location remains a major plus, and the room is otherwise fine for a stay in Santa Teresa. With a little more attention to small practical matters and guest interaction, this place could really become even better.

They also provided beach and pool towels, which was a great added touch. The location is excellent—close to everything, yet peaceful enough to fully relax. They also offer parking, which makes the stay even more convenient if you’re traveling by car. The staff truly elevated the experience. Abigail was especially kind and proactive, checking in about our arrival time and always available to assist us with anything we needed. Overall, the entire team was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Santa Teresa is noisy! The hotel is on the only street through town so every motorcycle and 4x4 is heard loudly! Our room was like a small “cage” at the front facing it all and it was difficult, even to sleep. With our luggage in the room we had 2-3 ft square to move about. The Ventura Santa Theresa was a fantastic spot for our family - the standout at this hotel is definitely the service from the day we booked to the day we departed. The front desk/office team was literally there for any and every question and were prompt in responding to even the smallest of requests. They assisted in planning activities and hooked us up with incredible tours with locals who were able to take us to spots that many other vacationers were unaware of. The hotel is super clean and modernized and in a very centralized location. The sheets, beds and pillows were super comfy and the housekeeping team did a lovely job refreshing our rooms every day. And while some of the rooms are on the smaller side, in all honesty we wanted to spend most of our time outdoors anyway. We had a lovely stay here with our young children in the balcony room. The kitchenette was well outfitted and really functional, and we loved the included breakfast. Very delicious, suitable for children too, and the fact they have a high chair is a nice family friendly touch. We especially wanted to thank Michael for his very efficient friendly service at most of our breakfasts! They also let us order food from the restaurant to our room when it felt too difficult to have dinner in the restaurant with the kids. Hands down one of the best travel experiences we had. I found the hotel on Agoda but reached out directly to book and felt immediately welcomed with our stay. Daniel was exceptional… and yes I always have a lot of questions, the whole concierge team was incredible and super responsive. Always ready to help and engage with us to make sure we had everything we needed. They coordinated rides from the airport and the drivers were on time and ready to greet us with smiles. When we arrived our room was ready. The room had everything we needed towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, rental surfboards, a restaurant below for anything we needed. Location wise this was a great place to stay, we were walking distance to the beach Playa Carmen. About 3 miles away from Santa Teresa beach , but we are not partiers so we didn’t mind being further away from the action. The food spots near us were walkable and incredible. The swimming pool is more of a dipping pool but even with 9/10 rooms filled we always felt like we had the common areas to ourselves to drink coffee in the morning or sit in the evening. The only thing that was slightly a down fall was that construction was happening right in front of the hotel. It was loud all week long because they literally were making and creating a new road. Ventura is in the bustling small community Santa Teresa yet once you enter the hotel a sense of serene calm takes over. Our garden room was in the back near the small but cool dipping pool. Beds were comfy and room provided plenty of space and the outdoor private porch area was a bonus. The outdoor common area with sofa allowed for a chill vibe.  Then there is the breakfast..one of the best we have had in CR! Pancakes, French Toast Oh My! Gallo Pinto was also fresh and delish. We spent one night in that hotel on our CR motorcycle trip. Location is close to the beach but just on an extremely busy dirt road.
